Still, these eleven albums offer plenty worth discovering, each great in its own way. Browse the list, revisit a favorite, or take a chance on something new. Enjoy!
Bleeds finds Wednesday sharpening everything that makes the band distinctive. Jagged guitars, flashes of country twang, and Karly Hartzman's vivid Southern storytelling come together in songs that feel bruised, noisy, and strangely beautiful. The album can be chaotic one moment and quietly heartbreaking the next, yet it never loses its sense of purpose. Bleeds is a messy, emotionally honest rock record, and one of Wednesday's strongest albums yet.
"More" finds Pulp returning with their signature blend of sharp wit, romantic melancholy, and richly detailed pop songwriting. The album balances elegant melodies and lush arrangements with Jarvis Cocker's observant, often sardonic storytelling, turning everyday encounters into moments of strange beauty. It feels both nostalgic and freshly alive. A thoughtful, stylish record from a band that still knows how to make the ordinary seem extraordinary.
"Never Enough" finds Turnstile pushing far beyond the boundaries of hardcore without losing their explosive energy. The album blends crushing guitars and pounding rhythms with dreamy melodies, atmospheric textures, and moments of genuine beauty. It is adventurous, emotional, and unpredictable. A confident record from a band determined to keep moving forward.
Anchor & Braille's New Mexico is a restless and surprisingly adventurous album from Stephen Christian. Blending atmospheric pop, electronic textures, desert-rock grit and flashes of Anberlin's heavier energy, the record refuses to settle into one predictable sound. Songs like "Drive," "Sweet Jesus Knows" and "Rattlesnake" feel immediate, while the quieter moments reveal themes of faith, loss, memory and finding your way home. It may take a few listens for all its contrasting styles to connect, but New Mexico ultimately becomes a deeply personal and rewarding journey - one of Anchor & Braille's most ambitious albums.
Fine China's I Felt Called is a graceful return to the band's shimmering blend of new wave, indie pop and understated melancholy. The guitars sparkle, the rhythms remain crisp and restrained, and Rob Withem's calm vocals give the songs a sense of reflection that fits the album beautifully. There is a distinctly nostalgic quality to the record, recalling the elegant guitar pop of the 1980s without ever feeling like imitation. Beneath the polished surfaces are songs concerned with faith, longing, memory and the quiet pull toward something greater. I Felt Called is thoughtful, melodic and wonderfully unhurried - the kind of album that grows more rewarding with every listen.
My Morning Jacket's "Is" finds the veteran Kentucky band sounding refreshed without abandoning the warm, psychedelic rock that has defined its career. Producer Brendan O'Brien brings clarity and muscle to the music, allowing Jim James' soaring voice and the band's expansive guitars to shine. Songs such as "Time Waited," "Half a Lifetime" and "Everyday Magic" balance reflection with a sense of hope and wonder. "Is" may not reinvent My Morning Jacket, but it captures a seasoned band playing with renewed purpose and still discovering beauty in the journey.
At only seven songs, "77 (Pt.1)" feels more like the beginning of a larger journey than a complete statement. Still, its strongest moments reveal a band becoming more comfortable with patience and vulnerability. The closing title track is especially effective, ending the record on a thoughtful and quietly hopeful note. It may not deliver the immediate punch of Colony House's earlier work, but its warmth and sincerity make it a rewarding first chapter.
Craig Finn has always been one of rock's finest storytellers, but Always Been may be his most complete narrative yet. The album follows a disgraced former reverend through failure, doubt and the possibility of redemption. Songs such as "Bethany," "Fletcher's" and "A Man Needs a Vocation" unfold like chapters in a weathered American novel, filled with damaged people, troubled relationships and small moments of unexpected grace.
What makes "M us eum" special is its sense of curiosity. Citizens approach faith as something living and mysterious, not an exhibit trapped behind glass. The album can occasionally feel more restrained than the band's earlier, guitar-driven work, but its warmth and creative production reward repeated listens. Thoughtful, joyful and slightly strange, "M us eum" is another compelling example of worship music that values imagination as much as accessibility.
HAIM's "I Quit" is a sprawling breakup album about walking away from unhealthy relationships, old expectations and the exhausting need to have everything figured out. The sisters move confidently between '70s soft rock, '90s alternative music, R&B and sun-drenched California pop, creating a record that feels familiar without simply repeating their past.
Doves' "Constellations for the Lonely" is a dark, atmospheric record created by a band that has endured more than its share of difficult years. The music is often melancholy, but small flashes of hope keep it from becoming completely overwhelmed by darkness. The absence of Jimi Goodwin from portions of the album is noticeable, yet Jez and Andy Williams step forward and give the record a compelling variety of voices. Its slow pace and heavy atmosphere may require patience, but the beautifully layered production rewards close listening. "Constellations for the Lonely" is the sound of Doves confronting hardship without surrendering to it. A moving, carefully crafted album for anyone searching for light during difficult times.
